She told Calvin she planned to meet a former classmate from the State University of New York at Morrisville, where she'd gotten an associate's degree in business administration. Michele told others, however, that she was going to New York City to pawn some of her jewelry, including her Rolex watch and two-carat diamond engagement ring. She was having financial problems at the time.
Michele spent the day of September 11, with her family. She worked her evening shift and departed from the establishment at p. She never arrived at her own home and has not been heard from again. Michele's minivan, a gold Ford Windstar with New York dealer plates, was discovered abandoned on September 12 by the Harris family housekeeper.
It was on the road shoulder near the entrance to the Harris property in the vicinity of the block of Hagadorn Hill Road in Spencer, New York. The keys were still in the ignition. An extensive search of the area produced no clues as to Michele's whereabouts.
There has been no activity on her cellular phone, bank accounts, or credit cards since her disappearance. Tiny drops of her blood were found in the kitchen and garage of her home. There were no other indications of foul play. Calvin suggested other men in Michele's life might have caused her disappearance.
She was seeing two boyfriends at the time she went missing. On the night Michele disappeared, she had drinks with one of her boyfriends, Michael Kasper, and a friend of his, Michael Hakes, then stopped at the Barton, New York apartment of her second boyfriend, Brian Earley.
He said she left between and p. They have described a bra strap and pieces of fabric found in a burn pit on property Stewart owned as "corroborative" evidence. Stewart's property is about seven miles from the Harris' home in Spencer, New York. And he was regular at Lefty's, a restaurant in Waverly, New York, where the victim was working as a waitress.
Her mini-van was found in the driveway of the family estate on Sept. Relying mostly on circumstantial evidence and some blood stains found in the family home, prosecutors convinced a jury in that Harris was guilty of second-degree murder. With more than two-dozen witnesses to depose and thousands of pages of documents to go over, Harris said he knows there is no way his lawsuit will be a quick process.
Despite his inherent unhappiness with the burden his lawsuit is causing for taxpayers, Harris said he felt he had no other recourse. Our lives will never be the same. That county should be ashamed…I would award him 15 million for getting abused by the District Attorney and the New York State Police…4 trials!!!????!!!! I believe this jerk is guilty. Wish I could be on the jury to send him packing…..
Yeah, Troop C has a great reputation. He had to pay his attorneys, experts and other costs for 4 trials, not to mention loss of income from his businesses. The State especially Police need to be taught a lesson and think twice before railroading another innocent person.
I hope the case is successful. If the scant of blood at the door entrance resulted from a murder scene, it would have not been left there visible. He would have not signed search consent papers for police to search his property and then leave for work with blood from a murder scene laying there. Search teams in helicopters overhead the large wooded property and divers in the lake yielded nothing.
After passing, he says he was later pulled over in Homer. But Harris claims there was no damage to his truck, and his arrest was completely unjust. Harris will be back in court on February He claims his dashcam footage captured the entire incident, but says it's currently in possession of the state police.
